5 Hydroxy L Tryptophan 100mg

5 Hydroxy L Tryptophan 100mg

(60 Caps) from Life Link. Tryptophan is converted in the body into Seratonin with the intermediate metabolite, 5-Hydroxy L-Tryptophan (HTP). Research has shown that supplements of 5-HTP is significantly more effective in absorbing into the body than Tryptophan. Life Link has provided the first and safest Tryptophan alternative, 5-HTP.

5-HTP helps the body produce Seratonin, which is a vital neurotransmitter. Seratonin promotes healthy brain and nerve function. It also enhances healthy sleep patterns. It has been found to help balance emotions and mood as well. Seratonin is important for the body's overall health and Life Link 5-HTP is the key to ensuring healthy levels of Seratonin.

(120 capsules) from Doctor's Best. (5-hydroxy L-tryptophan) is a naturally-occurring metabolite of the amino acid tryptophan. 5-HTP is converted in the brain to serotonin, a neurotransmitter substance found at the junctions (synapses) between neurons.* 5-HTP helps maintain mental and emotional well-being and promotes healthy sleep.* Doctor's Best 5-HTP is extracted from the seeds of the Griffonia simplicifolia plant.

5-HTP (100mg 60 caplets)

5-HTP(100mg 60 caplets)

5-HTP
(100mg 60 caplets) from Natural Factors. How can it help with depression? There is excellent documentation that 5-HTP is an effective antidepressant agent. 5-HTP often produces very good results in patients who are unresponsive to standard antidepressant drugs. More patients in a double-blind study responded to 5-HTP than fluvoxamine and 5-HTP was quicker acting than the fluvoxamine. The real advantage of 5-HTP in this study was the low rate of side effects. The most frequent side effect with 5-HTP was mild nausea, but this only occurred in less than one out of ten subjects. However, enteric coated caplets virtually eliminated any nausea

Fibromyalgia is a recently recognized disorder regarded as a common cause of chronic musculoskeletal pain and fatigue. 5-HTP can largely improve the painful picture of fibromyalgia as demonstrated in several double-blind studies. Because chronic headache sufferers have low levels of serotonin in their tissues, some researchers refer to migraine and chronic headaches as a "low serotonin syndrome". There have been several clinical studies with 5-HTP in headaches, both migraine and tension headaches, that have showed excellent results. In particular, 5-HTP is very effective in the prevention of migraine headache.

Several clinical studies have shown 5-HTP to produce good results in promoting and maintaining sleep in normal subjects as well as those experiencing insomnia. One of the 5-HTP's key benefits in the treatment of insomnia is its ability to increase sleep quality.

Many people may be predisposed to being overweight because they have a decreased conversion of tryptophan to 5-HTP and, as a result, decreased serotonin levels. By providing preformed 5-HTP, this genetic defect is bypassed and more serotonin is manufactured. 5-HTP literally turns off hunger.

Benefits

Depression: quick acting, few side effects
Helps to promote and maintain sleep
May help migraines due to low serotonin levels
Fibromyalgia: studies show good results
Helps promote a feeling of fullness for healthy weight loss

Ingredients
Each caplet contains:
5-HTP (Griffonia simplicifolia) extract (seed) ........100 mg
Dosage
1 caplet 1 to 2 times daily or as directed by a health care practitioner. Keep out of the reach of children.
Contraindications

5-HTP can worsen Parkinson s disease symptoms unless the person is also on the drug Sinemet.
Because 5-HTP is the direct precursor to serotonin, it should not be used by individuals taking antidepressant drugs unless under the direct supervision of a health care practitioner.
Although 5-HTP has been used safely in combination with prescription antidepressant drugs in clinical studies, taking this combination without medical supervision could result in too much serotonin in the body. The result is a condition known as the serotonin syndrome, which is characterized by confusion, fever, shivering, sweating, diarrhea, and muscle spasms. Consult a health care practitioner prior to use.
5-HTP may antagonize the effects of drugs used in migraine headaches like methysergide and cyproheptadine that block serotonin effects.

Additional Information
Children: Suitable for children at a dosage of 5 mg per 2.2 pounds of body weight.

Pregnancy and Nursing: Do not use 5-HTP if you are pregnant or nursing.

Seniors: No special precautions are known.

5-HTP 100mg neurotransmitte

5-HTP 100mg

5-HTP (5-hydroxytryptophan) is produced in the body from the amino acid tryptophan and is involved in nervous system health.1 It is a precursor to serotonin, a neurotransmitter involved in mood regulation, sleeping patterns, appetite, sexuality, and emotional states such as anger and aggression.2,3 5-HTP increases serotonin levels in the brain, which can help promote a calm mood and healthy sleep patterns.4

Unlike tryptophan, 5-HTP can easily cross the blood-brain barrier, making it effective for increasing serotonin levels in the central nervous system. Oral doses of 5-HTP are well-absorbed into the blood stream because it is not affected by other amino acids in digestion and it does not need a specific transport molecule.5

Supplementing with 5-HTP may:

Help regulate appetite
Improve mood
Assist in maintaining healthy sleep patterns

Vitamin B6 works with 5-HTP to create serotonin.6 If you are taking a B vitamin supplement, such as our B-Complex, you may wish to take the two products at the same time to optimize effectiveness.

Dosage: Take one or more capsule(s) daily, preferably on an empty stomach. To aid in sleep, take at bedtime.
